Labeling CD's, DVD's, Mini CD's And CD Business Cards For Video Production

I have labeled each of 400 DVDs of his hand for a client, so you can imagine how I can not wait to have all blank CDs, DVDs and the rest of them are already tagged and can write, or directly to printing them. You are on the market and come down quickly in price, but not easy to find in the shops. You can order a better quality printable DVDs and CDs of bulk media over the Internet. And if you are not lucky enough or need a professional, such as the Primera Duplicator> Copier / printer also (100 DVD copies at a time does), you must head off to your office supply store and find the "by hand" identification systems. Over the past 2 years I've been through nearly all label software, labels, stickers, and CD-and DVD-type out there. Trust me, the labeling process is much worse than editing the actual video. I almost had an intimate relationship with Avery Label Company, and an HP printer customer service guy, when I tried to order the two to. together I destroyed several packages to try very expensive labels, a problem that HP said finally resolved, was not resolvable. So I had assumed that all these media, labels and new media formats is difficult for the printer and the label company company, let alone consumers. Hopefully you can learn from my mistakes and not print "Family Reunion DVD" on the margins rather than on the label!

So, the media labels you can buy not only the labels that you print and keepthem to light. There are certain brands that are best with certain printers that can help many different types of labels and plastic device you stick it in exactly (and some of them would you want to stomp on the floor and quickly throw it into pieces, although you just paid $ 20 - $ 40) for the label starter kit.

My picks for the labeling of CDs and DVDs:

Epson Stylus Printer

Neato applicator

MediaFace Software

Fellowes Labels

I take IFirst - I love my Epson Stylus prints, which has directly to DVDs and CDs, and a great job with label sheets.

For label software, although they are both good, I prefer creating a label with Fellowes / Neato / MediaFace about Avery. With MediaFace software you can easily manipulate graphics and images. For the life of me I can not figure out what the relationship between Fellowes / Neato / MediaFace but they all seem really good marks for a product to be combined.

Hands down, theNEATO CD Label Applicator works best. The label fits into this center core, and press the CD on the sticky side of the label. You have to work hard to keep chaos from. I looked for a different style applicator (will remain nameless), that was terrible. It looks like all the label companies now have the kind Neato, Stomper as a brand that was acquired a few years ago.

In depth, let's start with label software and trademarks. Marketing appears to be working, becauseThe first software that I was considered with market saturation. Avery. Everyone has to use all offices some kind of Avery labels and the brand is carried out by the big business is. (This is another major problem with the media labels ... you can not find a good selection in the shops ... more on that later). So I thought, must have labels Avery Avery software for download on their website, and they did it. In most cases, I like Avery, but I've discovered they do not label the media andFellowes / Neato. Even if my HP printer went through a label correctly and in the next 1 / 2 inch too high (above 50 consistently tried very frustrating ...), and I was wasting sheet labels with expensive label sheets, Avery Customer wasn 't as helpful as they should have been. The Avery software is initially easier to use, but if you try anything complicated, like put a picture on the label, it just does not work like a good graphics program should continue.

All LabelsMemorex, Fellowes, Neato (walk through this course) and Avery being print all interchangeable with each other software seem. I have no idea which brand better. And if you buy them at Best Buy, for example, you would think that they are multi-brand it? No, show that they Avery and Memorex on their website, but no Fellowes. The brand you need in an office supply store like Office Depot will receive.

And that sentence makes this a good time for you warn about online CD / DVDSave to wholesalers without bricks and mortar. Yes, the prices are very good and they often have items that you do not buy at Best Buy, like mini-CD and-CD was found business cards (those labels to locate worse than hens teeth). So I was forced / lured minis and CD business cards and order the sleeves of a web. They had received no CD business card labels, so I had it from another company. If I, the labels on the CD labels, business cards were too big! I neededmake up to 100, so I had every CD-trimmed business card with an exacto knife. No, it did not look professional. At that time, the business card sleeves had to be heated to a million degrees apparently because it folds plastic. I was so desperate I ironed one of them to see if it helped. This is the last time I will from an Internet shop where I am not personally know the people who order it. I recommend Edgewise Media, where I most of my bulk-VHS and MiniDV cassettes.

Now thePrinter. If you have many labels as I print (perhaps need volunteers to create the Church of CDs or a non-profit help with a video), fundraising, use an Epson printer and if you can afford it, the latest versions for print CD Labels made. Just because they are made for photography and video labels, making them better for everything media. I had a difficult time deciding between the Canon and Epson, however, the pressure directly on the CD feature sold me.

A word of warning thatcoming from computer experts. Sometimes the labels that can come loose and stick you really mess up your computer's DVD player to make sure that they are smooth and completely. This allows said, referring to my first sentence, manufacturer, please hurry up and make the printable DVDs and CDs to bring industry-standard and to keep the price down so that we consumers are not on his label guinea pigs. It is a technology called LightScribe out there that seems to be popular among young people.

ButI just do a search online for DVD / CD label systems and it is just as confusing as it was when I started learning about marks 5 years ago. Unfortunately, until each one printer that prints directly onto CDs and DVDs can afford it, they will continue to be an exact science.
